The lack of negative
comments at the public hearings is testimony to the power of the citizen
activists who believe annexation into the city of They have made a difference. These are exactly the kind of citizens Issaquah is proud to have in its population base. There are already plenty of impressive people who volunteer their efforts for the good of the community, but there is room for more. The ultimate volunteer job in Issaquah is holding an elected office. The annexations will not be complete in time to bring some of these newcomers on the Issaquah City Council, but they can get involved by helping to get their favorite candidates elected. First, the city needs choices for candidates. The mayor’s seat and four city council positions will be decided in November, but prospective candidates only have six weeks left to file for election. We look forward to seeing new faces involved in Issaquah’s future.
