Short but sweet minutes from the last Annexation Committee Meeting

April 29, 2002

Attendees: David Bangs, Joan Probala, Kevin Morgan, Shirley Lopez, Julie Homes

Because of the work necessary to prepare for a general meeting, it was decided that the meeting be moved back until September.  The date has not been confirmed.  It will depend on the availability of the Pickering Barn and David Sao’s ability to make reservations.

The one page document that the committee of the whole decided would be beneficial to present to the residents was discussed and changes made.

Several issues needed clarification and committee members were assigned the task of finding the answers.

Joan Probala volunteered to contact the city with the following questions:

Will the City of Issaquah bill residents directly for Bellevue Utilities?

What does a 60% vote mean?  Is it 60% of total registered voters or 60% of those who actually vote?

What will the status of Meerwood Park be?

Will annexation create additional taxes for the incorporated area?

Shirley Lopez

Clarification of city billings for cell phones

David Bangs

Will write a paragraph for insertion into the one page document that will be distributed to the general public

Julie Homes

Will contact apartments and condos in the annexation area to find out contact person

The next meeting will be at Shirley Lopez’s home in Meerwood. on June 3rd at 7p.m. Shirley’s address is 4529 190 th Ave SE.
