Roundabout news:  Westbound to northbound slip lane to be reinstated!
submitted 9/10/05 by Randy Uyeno

Many residents wrote WSDOT to complain about the Roundabout regarding issues such as congestion, delay, bicycle safety, etc.

Here is an except of a response from Don Sims, project coordinator for WSDOT to Kim Putney, South Cove Resident (Thank-you Kim!!)

"...we have concluded that we don't have to do an after study to know that the westbound movement in the morning is much worse than the models predicted and that the current delay in unacceptable to not only the users of the facility, but also to WSDOT engineers. WSDOT design engineers have already begun plans to reinstate the westbound to northbound right turn slip lane in order to provide relief for the morning congestion. .....we do not have a schedule or a cost estimate for the westbound to northbound right turn slip lane, however, we will provide that information on our website when that information becomes available. "

You may voice your opinion to WSDOT officials: We should write to make the restoring the westbound to northbound right turn slip lane an immediate priority!
