Annexation Update

As you know, our neighborhoods overwhelmingly approved Issaquah annexation and assumption of indebtedness.  But our counterparts in the Klahanie neighborhood did not approve the indebtedness measure. So the big question has become "What Should Issaquah Do About Klahanie?" and "How Would That Affect Us?"

A likely scenario appears to be that our annexation will be approved and become final March 2, 2006 and that Klahanie voters will be required to vote again on the issue of accepting indebtedness.

Here are some newspaper articles that have been written:

City planning manager Mark Hinthorne has provided this tentative timeline, as of last Wednesday. According to this timeline, which could be changed by the city council, our annexation will be discussed at the December 5th council meeting and the council will vote whether to approve our annexation at the December 19th meeting. Stay tuned for more news as it happens!
