The parade will emerge from SE 45th Street onto 188th Ave SE, into South Cove at S.E. 44th Way, and south to Meerwood Park along 190th/192nd Ave S.E.
After the parade, we will have a short speech and ribbon-cutting by Mayor Eva Frisinger and members of the Issaquah City Council. There will be refreshments for everyone and activities for the kids, including a fire truck and police car to tour.
Line the Route and Join in the Parade! After the parade passes you, join in and follow the procession to Meerwood Park. We’ll have the Issaquah High School Marching Band, the Mayor, Police and Fire trucks. Kids, bring your bikes! Prizes to the best decorations.
Parade staging starts at 9:30 AM on SE 45th Street in Weatherwood. South Cove/Greenwood Point Census - Starting
February 25th Issaquah needs to complete a Special Census of our area in order to establish its new population. This will qualify the City for increased state funding, especially for transportation.
Census takers will be out canvassing the area door-to-door for one month beginning the weekend of February 25, 2006. They will leave “callback letters” with return envelopes on the doorknobs when residents are not at home. Residents may choose to fill out the form and mail it back to the City or they may call the number on the “callback letter” to provide census information. Census takers will return to neighborhoods after the initial walk through to try and obtain information from residents that weren’t available the first weekend.
The State requests the names of the people who reside at the residence and clarification of the type of residence for the census process. All information is strictly confidential and will be shredded when the census is completed. To see a copy of the exact questions that will be asked by the Census takers, please see the city website at www.ci.issaquah.wa.us and click on the Planning Department home page. (See “Klahanie and Greenwood Point/South Cove annexation update”, click on “Census News” in the first paragraph and then “call back questions”).
If you need further information on the census process, you may call Debi Kirac, Associate Planner with the City of Issaquah at 425 837-3086 or, to provide your census information by phone, you may call Glenn MacGilvra, Census Director at 425 444-4936.
Next SLSA Meeting
The next SLSA meeting will be held Wednesday April 5th, 7pm, at the King County Library Resource Center on Newport Way. We will be discussing neighborhood improvement priorities.
